Delve into the art of pyrography or woodburning using a specialised machine to create beautiful designs on wood. Unleash your creativity as you learn how to wood burn a simple yet stunning design that you can proudly take home at the end of the workshop.
Suitable for beginners, our friendly instructors will guide you through the process step by step, making sure you feel confident and comfortable throughout the session.
You'll work hands-on with the pyrography machine and high-quality wood, getting a feel for the tools and techniques involved in this craft. The class will be interactive and engaging, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the experience and enjoy the therapeutic nature of wood burning.
By the end of the workshop, you'll have not only gained a new skill but also a unique handcrafted piece of art to showcase at home.
This workshop has two locations. Please choose venue depending upon group size:
  • This workshop is available only at Millgum Farm for up to 8 participants.
  • This workshop is available only at Helena River Steiner School for more than 9 participants.
This workshop it is also available as a one to one workshop.
What you'll get
You will learn how to safely use the pyrography machine to burn a simple flower design onto wood as shown in the first photograph.
Knowledge required
No prior woodwork knowledge or skills required. 16 years plus.
What to bring
Please wear enclosed shoes with hair tied back.

I founded Yol Creative in 2024 to provide art and woodwork workshops, aiming to empower individuals to explore their creative potential and foster a sense of community.
With a solid foundation in creativity cultivated at a Rudolph Steiner School in Switzerland and a double major in Fine Art from the University of Western Australia, I teach woodwork, sculpture, and art at three Steiner Schools.
At West Coast, Silvertree, and Helena River Steiner Schools, I have developed engaging woodwork programs, including a homeschooling initiative at Helena River Steiner School.
Workshops are held at Millgum Farm in the Swan Valley or at Helena River Steiner School depending on the number of participants.
